Modulus™ Microplate Text to Column Format Change

This Technical Note provides instruction for using the Convert Text to Columns Wizard. This Wizard is an easy way to separate simple cell content, separated by commas, into independent cells for each well reading on data generated from the Modulus™ Microplate Multimode Reader.

Data generated using the Modulus™ Microplate is exported in a common format known as comma separated value (.csv).  Depending on Regional settings, data generated using the Modulus™ Microplate when presented in Excel may be in one cell separated by commas.  Using the Convert Text to Columns Wizard is an easy way to separate simple cell content, separated by commas, into independent cells for each well reading.

The following instructions are a simple exercise showing the method to convert comma separated data into a format that is ideally suited for data plotting and analysis applications.

Step 1.  Highlight column that contains data

Step 2.  Under Data tab, select the Text to Columns option.

 

Step 3.  Select the Delimited button and then
click on the NEXT button.

 

Step 4.  Check the Comma box and then click on the NEXT button.

 

Step 5.  Select the GENERAL button and then click the FINISH button.

 

The Excel spreadsheet has now been converted from simple cell content, separated by commas, into independent cells for each well reading. The data generated using the Modulus™ Microplate is now in a format that is ready for data plotting and analysis applications.
